Tech Alpharetta is excited to announce its new podcast series, Driving Innovation, which will explore the people and companies leading innovation in the city of Alpharetta. Hosted by Tech Alpharetta CEO, Karen Cashion, the podcast will incorporate four primary themes:
- Start-up Success Stories
- Under the Radar Exits
- Serial Entrepreneurs
- Transformative Leaders
The first interview of the series features Scott Williford, CEO and Founder of vLink Solutions, a Driving Innovation sponsor and a graduate of Tech Alpharetta’s incubator. vLink, which has a studio in the city of Alpharetta, is both a technology company and a video marketing agency that helps drive and measure engagement through the use of online videos.
In response to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, vLink has also developed a virtual events platform to help companies live stream and host virtual events and conferences using high production value. The platform provides a quality product without the high price tag of some virtual event companies.
Williford graduated from Georgia Tech, with a degree in Aerospace engineering. He started his career in sales and launching his own technology consulting company at the age of 27, with his father. He sold the company and went on to work with a number of successful technology companies.
In 2010, Williford realized that there was a need for marketing agencies that focused on video as the medium. He brought the company to the Tech Alpharetta Innovation Center, where vLink was able to successfully grow and make connections. vLink graduated nine months later. “Being able to connect with other early stage companies as well as sponsors within the community made a big difference for us,” says Williford. “For entrepreneurs, this is a great way to connect with and learn more about what’s going on in the Alpharetta tech community.”
Williford is a self-ascribed serial entrepreneur and believes that there is no reward without risk. “Successful entrepreneurs have to decide what risks they are willing to take,” he adds “It’s a gamblers game to a certain extent.”
