Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is a technology company that provides infrastructure and solutions across all verticals around the world to help businesses run better. It has been based in Alpharetta since 2002, following its acquisition of Compaq.

Throughout his 35 year career at HPE, James McAnally has held a variety of roles, starting as a bench repair tech in college, followed by technical support and various positions across sales, support and business. Currently, he serves as the Vice President of Adaptive Management Services.

McAnally has worked in Alpharetta for more than 17 years, and been a resident since 2015. Personally, he enjoys all of the amenities in the city. “Alpharetta is a great place to live and work. It offers so much from a community perspective, great shopping, restaurants and activities. It’s also in a great location, with easy access to Atlanta and the North Georgia mountains.”

From a business standpoint, he believes the city provides a wealth of technology resources, including good talent that is fed in through the neighboring university systems to help the company grow.

To continue to see Alpharetta flourish as a technology leader, McAnally recommends continuing to invest in amenities that attract quality employees. “People are our greatest asset. The more we can make it a desirable location and the more we can work closely with our university system to bring in rich talent from a technology perspective the better off we’ll be.”
