by | Blogs

Tech Alpharetta’s anchor venture capital tenant and member, 11-11 Ventures, is an innovation-driven venture capital firm investing and growing early stage technology companies with specific focus in Blockchain.  It has been headquartered at Tech Alpharetta’s Innovation Center for two years and is an active member of the city’s thriving technology scene.

As Founder, CEO and Managing Partner at 11-11 Ventures, Arul Murugan splits his time between building relationships with entrepreneurs to better understand their businesses to help them grow, and seeking new investment opportunities.

“The goal of our company is to help entrepreneurs scale their business by actively investing in their ventures and be a thought leader in Blockchain investments,” says Murugan. “We have made 18 investments since our inception, and in this year alone we’ve made more than 10, making us one of the most active investment firms in the southeast.”

11-11 Ventures’ mission is to deliver exceptional financial returns on a risk-reduced basis, and provide personal fulfillment to its limited partners. It accomplishes this by investing in great companies run by talented entrepreneurs and truly supporting them to grow their business.

Prior to 11-11 Ventures, Murugan founded Enrich (a global leader in Oracle Procurement SaaS), an Inc. 500/5000 company for 5 consecutive years and grew it to a global company across North America, Europe and Asia, before his exit in early 2016. Murugan had his second exit with the company in 2017 to a large global private equity firm called EQT, based out of Sweden. Recently he co-founded a new $100M blockchain venture capital fund called Algo Capital.

Murugan serves on the board of directors of several startups and is also a member of Tech Alpharetta‘s strategic growth committee. His key strengths are business model innovation and applying the right technology to solve real problems, backed up by his finance acumen in managing a company or investment portfolio. He is passionate about managing and growing investments across private and public companies. He started investing when he was 21 years old and enjoys managing most of his net worth assets by himself.

“We want to make sure we are not putting all of our eggs into one basket. We pick companies in different industries, maybe different stages and even different regions of the U.S.,” says Murugan. “Being in Alpharetta allows us to connect with a lot of other companies across and even outside the U.S., because it is the technology hub of the south.”

11-11 Ventures also runs an investment platform called GAIN (Global Accredited Investor Network). Its accredited investor members are introduced to early stage technology companies and given the choice to select which deals to invest alongside the fund. GAIN members build a diverse portfolio of investments over time at lower fees and at a lower entry point than is typical in this class of investments.
