Tech Alpharetta Leadership Guest Judging Inaugural InnoSTARS Competition in China

Authority in Tech Innovation Presents at Invite-Only International Innovation Competition

ALPHARETTA, Ga. (Nov. 16, 2017) – Tech Alpharetta, a nonprofit organization helping the City of Alpharetta lead in innovation, cutting edge infrastructure, national branding, and the growth of its technology ecosystem, will be represented at the first InnoSTARS Competition in China later this month. The competition is hosted by U.S. China Innovation Alliance (UCIA), an international technology advancement non-profit that promotes innovation through the exchange of ideas and collaboration between China and the U.S.

The Tech Alpharetta Innovation Center’s Director of Operations, Dale Sizemore, has been invited to take part as a guest speaker and judge at the semifinals of the 2017 InnoSTARS Competition’s Healthcare and Biotechnology Session in Beijing and Kunming, China, November 27 to December 2.

Sizemore will be the only U.S. representative on the Healthcare and Biotechnology Session panel. He was selected as a judge and speaker for his experience in the biotech industry and experience as a serial entrepreneur; past involvement with Venture Capital; and mentoring roles with startups.

“I am truly honored to be able to participate in this event, which presents an important opportunity for us to foster relationships with the startup and innovation communities internationally,” notes Sizemore. “The more we can learn from one another the greater advances we can make.”

UCIA launched InnoSTARS in 2017 as a competition where growth-stage technology companies across five core industry areas (Healthcare & Biotechnology, Advanced Manufacturing & New Materials, Renewable Energy & Clean Tech, Information & Communications Technology, and Agriculture & Food Safety) face off for an opportunity to showcase their business and products to a wide audience of qualified potential investors and relevant partners in China. During the competition, each entrepreneur presents a short five-minute pitch of their business idea followed by a five-minute Q & A session challenging the business and the idea.

Tech Alpharetta’s Innovation Center is a flourishing incubator that is home to nearly 50 tech startups and a private venture capital fund. The Center offers workspace, mentoring, educational programs and other resources to its startups. Centrally located between downtown Alpharetta and Avalon, the Center is an essential component of what makes Alpharetta truly “The Technology City of South.” For more information about Tech Alpharetta, its mission, or availability and amenities at the Tech Alpharetta Innovation Center, visit www.techalpharetta.com.
